We are seeking a knowledgeable and qualified individual to serve as our Parks Forestry and Landscape Groundskeeper. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance of all horticulture and landscape areas at all properties, including supervision of personnel, planning, organizing and evaluating. The position will complete tree removals, tree trimming, and tree planting as well as overall landscape management. Overtime is required, but not guaranteed, and is based on the needs of the Division and the Park District as a whole.

Function

Supervision Received

Parks Grounds reports directly to the Supervisor of Construction & Playgrounds.

Qualifications / Experience

Minimum of three years of experience in the Forestry field is preferred

Illinois Pesticide Operator License or ability to obtain.

Illinois CDL Class B Driver’s License or the ability to acquire within 90 days of hire.

Education

Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Turf, Park Maintenance, or related field required if less than three years of experience in the field.

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

Salary Range

Hiring Range: $45,000 - $55,000 DOQ
